As in most cases, television stars emerge from a stroke of luck thanks to a successful production. Sometimes it takes years of experience; and others – increasingly common – occur at an early age. So it happened with Finn Wolfhard; Canadian actor and musician who became known in 2016 after playing Mike Wheeler on the Netflix series “Stranger Things”.

Netflix’s original science fiction and horror production arrived as one of the platform’s new bets and, unlike other offerings, it was made up of a cast, mostly children. Finn Wolfhard – then 14 years old – was part of this group of small actors who assumed such a responsibility for the first time.
Along with Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp, the young actor embarked on the story of terrifying creatures that today is awaiting its fourth season, receiving numerous Emmy Award nominations since its premiere.
Contrary to what many might imagine, Finn Wolfhard did not make his acting debut in “Stranger Things.” He had some short appearances in series such as “The 100” (2014) and “Supernatural” (2015), where he played Zoran and Jordie Pinsky respectively.
The success achieved with “Stranger Things” led him to take part, some time later, in the long-awaited film adaptation of Stephen King’s book “It”. The horror film was released in 2017 and Finn Wolfhard played the young version of Richie Tozier; one of the children tormented by the fearsome clown.
His appearance in the second installment of the film during 2019 was to be expected. However, along the way, other films emerged as space for the young talent. “Dog Days” (2018), “The Turning” (2019), “The Goldfinch” (2019) and “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” (2020) are some of them. The latter is awaiting its release date, after suffering a stoppage due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, Finn Wolfhard’s life is not limited to acting, but also to music. The 17-year-old Canadian founded his alternative rock band Calpurnia in 2017, being the lead vocalist and guitarist. Although the group announced its final dissolution during 2019, they achieved important achievements.
Among the main goals achieved by Calpurnia, is the contract with the British label Royal Mountain Records in November 2018, with which they released their first EP “Scout” the same year. Malcolm Craig (drums), Ayla Tesler-Mabe (vocals and guitar) and Jack Anderson (bass) completed the band.
In addition to music, Finn Wolfhard also had his run on the catwalks, becoming the face of one of Yves Saint Laurent’s main campaigns. However, everything indicates that Wolfhard wants to continue emphasizing his acting career; so music and modeling are hobbies she has put aside for the moment.
Like Finn, his still castmate Millie Bobby Brown has quickly risen to popularity, and today she leads her own beauty line and is close to producing and starring in a new Netflix movie.
