Who has not seen the famous movie ‘Ghost’ on a winter afternoon and has enjoyed to the fullest with that love so sincere and dramatic that the protagonists demonstrate during their story? Now, you can relive that story with the musical that will be re-premiered on September 28 at the EDP Gran Vía Theater in Madrid with the incorporation of David Bustamante and Ricky Merino in its cast.

The movie was written by Bruce Joel Rubin, Oscar winner for the film’s script, and starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg. Adapted to the theater by Bruce Joel Rubin himself, the show arrives in Spain in musical format after its premiere in London and Broadway. With music and lyrics by Glen Ballard and Dave Stewart, the latter composer of the British band Eurythmics.

The show is rerun in Madrid, after a first season of resounding critical and public success that was seen interrupted by pandemic. The musical received the 2020 Broadway World Spain Award for Best Musical and Cristina Llorente received the Best Actress Award. The musical industry thus returns to Madrid’s Gran Vía by the hand of LETSGO.

David bustamante joins the cast of the musical that brings to the stage the love story that triumphed on the big screen in 1990, and that returns to the EDP Gran Vía Theater to celebrate after the pandemic the 30th anniversary of the film. And from one triumph to another, since he will alternate in the role of Sam with the artist Ricky Merino.

The show, to be performed by Wednesday to Sunday, will have Bustamante in the functions on Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m., Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Sundays at 6:30 p.m. Ricky Merino, for his part, will play Sam on Thursdays at 8:30 p.m., Friday at 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. and at 9:30 p.m. On Monday, October 11 and Tuesday, October 12 there will be a performance at 8:30 p.m., these performances will be performed by Merino.

The musical is an original production directed by Federico Bellone, artistic director of shows of recognized international trajectory, among which stand out Mary Poppins, in Italy, from Disney and Cameron Mackintosh.

The show has a cast made up of 18 artists. The choreographies are directed by Chiara Vecchi, the script and lyrics adaptation is the work of Silvia Montesinos (also assistant director and resident director), the costume designer is Felype from Lima, the characterization is Olaya Brandon and the lighting design of Valerius Tiberius.
