Epica premieres the video for “Freedom – The Wolves Within”, new single from ‘Omega’
The great symphonic metal band, which this summer the process of recording, mixing and mastering of his new album culminated, has shared with his fans a new preview of this long-awaited ‘Abyss of Time’, which will hit stores on 26 of February through Nuclear Blast and from which you can see its tracklist clicking here. After the arrival of “Omega”, it is the turn of the cut to “Freedom – The Wolves Within”, video clip included. We leave it below these lines!
Mark Jansen, guitarist of the Dutch band, has declared the following regarding this song: “It is based on an old story about a fight between two wolves. A Cherokee sage is talking about life with his grandson and says, ‘There is a battle within me between two wolves.’ A wolf is evil and represents anger, envy, grief, remorse, greed, arrogance, guilt, resentment, lies, inferiority, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other wolf is good, it represents love, hope, serenity, humility, generosity, benevolence, empathy, truth, compassion and faith ”.
“We all have the same battle within us and the outcome of that battle is reflected in the outside world. The boy is curious and asks his grandfather which wolf ends up winning. ‘The one you feed the most’ he replies. What we want to be and what we want to project into the world around us depends on the wolf we feed and the degree of control we have over our inner wolves. Will we be able to control them or will they control us? “, it is finished.
